Join Richmond ALA on Wednesday, May 20th to provide hands-on support for Tech for Troops (T4T)!

If join us last year you know how much fun we had from computer breakdown, shredding of hard drives, filing of computer parts and cleaning laptops. 

Tech for Troops empowers the under-resourced Veterans and their families by providing sustainable lifelong digital skills backed through training, education, and technology. Their Vision is to Improve the lives of Veterans and their families through nationwide digital services. Formed in 2014, we are a non-partisan, non-discriminatory Veteran services organization.

T4T supports our Veterans in several ways:

1) They collect used technology and refurbish laptops and other devices that may end up in landfills.

2) They provide training directly to Veterans on the use of computers and technology.

3) Provides a Gaming Initiative partnered with mental health professionals to help Veterans cope with mental health challenges, particular those that lead to suicide.

Joining Richmond ALA on May 20th, will help support all of these initiatives!  Plus, we may end the day with a toast for all of our hard work!

A brief overview of the volunteer day would include the following items:

• Tour of the facility
• Details from our staff and daily operations
• Computer breakdown
• Filtering of computer parts
• Cleaning laptops
• Additional activities may take place based on our needs at that time

Note that every activity will come with instructions and be supervised by a T4T employee.
