Hollywood on Trial: Images of Women in Law

During this educational session, Elizabeth Weitzman will contextualize essential issues like gatekeeping, diversity, and inclusion through fascinating cultural and historical images of women in law. Using film and television portrayals that span a full century, Elizabeth will illustrate the dramatically varied ways popular culture has reflected and redefined our views of women in the workplace. The program begins with the first media image of a working woman inside a courtroom and ends by exploring the ways contemporary artists are teaching all of us to reject and reframe the biases still entrenched in professional narratives.
